Reset a wireless password

by matt on March 14, 2010

Q: I am having issues connecting new devices to my wireless network because I have forgotten the wireless password. Is there a way to reset the wireless password so I can connect new devices?

A: The easiest thing to do is to remember the password. I know you are here because you cannot remember the password but sometimes you can log into the network settings on your devices and get the password from there. This is your best option for getting the password to your wireless network. Read the rest of this entry »

Long range wireless router recommendation?

by Airsick Timelord on February 9, 2010

Q: I currently have high speed internet at my home (cable) and a belkin wireless router (F5D7230-4). It works okay, but it has to be unplugged quite often as when multiple devices are connected at once it often drops one of them. But while the wireless in the house is decent, my daughter’s room is above the garage, which is 150 feet away from the main house. She gets horrible reception, usually getting about 1 or 2 bars out of 5, and further when multiple computers are accessing the internet they ALL slow way down. What router would you suggest I upgrade to to offer a longer range, as well as the ability to be used by multiple computers at once?

How come I cannot connect to a wireless network from my apartment?

by j4z on January 31, 2010

Q: I am trying to connect to the clubhouse network from my apartment. I have a USB network adapter that gets a good signal from my apartment but won’t connect to the Internet. I know that the Internet works because when I go to the clubhouse my network card in my laptop picks it up.

Is there a setting I need to put my adapter on or something?

How come all my computers can get on the Internet with my new router except one?

by kimh on January 16, 2010

Q: I purchased a new Linksys dual band wireless-n gigabit router. All my wireless electronics can connect to the router/internet except for one wireless computer. It can connect to the router but has limited access and can not connect to the internet. Is this a router issue or the Internet service provider issue? Each one keeps saying it is the others and I don’t know who to really pin down.

How can I get the WEP key for my router?

by hogindas1 on December 28, 2009

Q: My friend has a linksys router and we can’t find the WEP key to it! It’s not on the router and I tried typing in his gateway in the address bar to login to the account, but whenever I type in his gateway IP address the “admin” and “password” doesn’t show up!

The only thing that shows is, “AOL SearchSkip over navigation The web address you entered could not be found”. So we have no way of checking the WEP key! I’ve even went into regedit and tried to find the key using a tutorial I found but still no luck!
