Is there a device that will allow me to switch my monitor between my computer and Xbox 360?

by Guest Geek on November 1, 2009

Q: Is there a cable that allows me to switch between using my computer monitor for my comp, as well as using my monitor for my Xbox 360? I already have the cables for the Xbox 360 to connect to the monitor but I have to unplug my monitor from my comp each time I do and vice versa.

Connect an Xbox 360 to a projector

by Pamela on August 1, 2009

Q: How can I connect my Xbox 360 to my Mitsubishi LVP-X490U projector?

I’ve tried just plugging in the red, yellow, and white cords into the side of the projector (video-in) and the sound works but the picture does not. I do not have component options on my projector like I do on my TV. Is there a “video-in” to component adapter that I can buy or do you know of another way?

A: To get the best picture possible you will want to connect your Xbox 360 to your projector using an Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable. You should be able to find it in local stores as well if you want to get it right away.

Is it possible to read a text file on an Xbox 360?

by Guest Geek on June 19, 2009

Q: Is it possible, on the xbox 360, to read a text document from a 512MB memory stick while in a game?

I was wondering because there are some games where I need a guide and my computer is in the other room. It’s just such a hassle to run back and fourth to read them.

How to disable Windows Media Center

by matt on June 2, 2009

Q: I’m running Windows Vista on my laptop. I added an Xbox 360 as an extender in media center. However, this is using a massive amount of power from the laptop, so I’ve decided I no longer want to use media center!. I’ve gone to settings and disabled what I think are processes to media center, but my laptop is still using way more power than it used to. Does anyone know of a way to fix this?

A: Here are all the services you’ll need to disable:

Windows Media Center Extender Service
Windows Media Center Receiver Service
Windows Media Center Scheduler Service
Windows Media Center Service Launcher
Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service
