Some Options For Anti-Spyware Software

An Into Tomorrow listener submitted the following question!

Q: What anti-spyware should I use to protect my computer from spyware programs?

A: There are a couple of products out on the market that can be used to protect your computer from spyware. The biggest problem you are going to have is actually navigating their websites to download the software though. I am not certain why they make it hard to get at this software but the two top choices are Ad-Aware and Spybot-S&D.

Ad-Aware is the product I recommend the most to anyone running a windows machine. I have had nothing but good luck with it. You will want to visit their site and select “Ad-Aware Personal” from the navigation, which is found under “Products”. The personal addition is free for home users and I suggest everyone use this to try it out. If you try it out and it works well for you I highly suggest you purchase it. The purchased version will stop the spyware from getting on your machine where the free version will remove it after it is already there.

Spybot-S&D is also a good option although I have not used it as long. The thing I like the best is their Spybot-S&D tutorial, which walks you though exactly how to use the software. To download the software look for Spybot-S&D on the left hand navigation. It will give you information on what the software does along with options to download it.

Best of luck in your crusade to rid yourself of spyware!
