Putting Video on an iPod

by on August 3, 2007

Q: How do I put movies on my 80 gig video iPod?

A: Converting video into a format that your iPod can play is relatively easy, however it can be time consuming and you will need to download a few free tools. If you plan on converting videos that you download from the web then you will need a free video converter called Videora iPod Converter. This Windows application will convert existing video files (.avi, .mpg, etc.) into iPod video files. Once you have converted the video into iPod format you can add the video to iTunes and synchronize your iPod to upload the video to it.

If you would like to convert the DVDs you own to iPod format you will need an additional application to extract the video from the DVD before you use Videora to convert it. DVD Decrypter will allow you to extract the video from most DVDs. Read the guide on Anders.com for step-by-step instructions on the process and links to all of the software.
