Where not to Store Home Theater Equipment

An Into Tomorrow listener submitted the following question!

Q: I want to move my electronics equipment, which consists of a cable box, surround sound amp, PS3, and VCR, into another room but the only space available is a closed bottom kitchen cabinet. Is this a good idea?

A: The kitchen is not an ideal place for any delicate electronics, namely items with circuit boards. The kitchen is one of the more humid rooms in any home and there is always a danger of equipment getting moist or wet. Your Home Theater equipment and video game consoles were not designed to keep out moisture like the other electronic devices in your kitchen. You should avoid keeping these devices in the kitchen altogether.
