Are there any good options for non cell phone PDAs?

by on January 3, 2009

Q: I was wondering if you could recommend a PDA that does NOT have a phone or camera.

It must fulfill the following requirements

Windows CE: Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 or Microsoft Pocket PC 2000 (ARM/X-SCALE only) 2002, 2003, 2003 SE; Palm OS 3.5 or higher. If there’s not a PDA you can recommend, could you explain what these different requirements mean? I know there are companies like Palm and HP. Can Palm work with both Palm and HP or just a Palm?

You might want to consider the iPod Touch, which is basically and iPhone with the same PDA-like functionality, but without the phone, camera, etc. You can learn about the iPod Touch at:

Many geeks feel that the Palm OS is dead, because even Palm has started selling Windows Mobile devices! So this basically means you can purchase a PDA which runs Microsoft Windows Mobile, BlackBerry OS, or iPhone OS (includes iPod Touch).

PS: There is a big technology conference happening this week, where new Apple products are often announced. So if you decide to purchase an iPod Touch, I recommend that you wait until the conference is finished (January 10, 2009)

    Does this help?

Oops! BlackBerrys obviously have phones in them.

yeah! thank you so much for all your help! I think I will get the iPod Touch!
