How come the picture on my screen does not match what prints from my printer?
by troylene on January 29, 2009Q: I am having color issues with Photoshop Elements 6.0, Kodak All-In-One printer, and my Nikon d80 photos. The picture on my computer screen is completely different than the one that comes out of the printer. How can I fix this?

You need to color calibrate your monitor. There are a number of ways to do this, ranging from free software to special hardware.
What model monitor do you have?

Okay, at the basic and free level you can just print a photo out and manually adjust your monitor under the image on the monitor matches your print out.
However, since you’re running around with a D80, you’ll probably be interested in a hardware based calibration system.
Two of the major products in this arena are made by ColorVision & Pantone.
