I want to make sure that I understand what is happening. You had a hard drive with Microsoft Windows installed in Computer A. You then took the hard drive from Computer A and placed it in Computer B. Is this correct?

If correct, the best solution to your problem is to reinstall Microsoft Windows. This is necessary because Windows is not designed to be transferred from one computer to another. Be aware that if the Microsoft Windows on your hard drive came pre-installed on Computer A, it may be either illegal and/or technically impossible to install that copy of Windows on Computer B.

If you cannot install Microsoft Windows on Computer B, you will either need to purchase a new copy of Windows (expensive) or use an alternative operating system, such as Ubuntu Linux (free).

    Does this help?
