How come my HP all in one scanner will only scan to images and not to documents?
by smartykatz on March 26, 2009Q: I have a HP L7590 all in one scanner. It is attached to a Dell running Microsoft Windows XP professional, version 5.1.2600, service pak 3 build 2600, model 2300.
When I scan, I have to scan everything as a picture. The document scan errors out and HP is not able to resolve the problem. When the files I scan get to the other computers, the files are to large to open. When I scan in pictures, I don’t have all of my options to change settings. It was suggested I minimize resolution on the scanner to 100 dpi and save it in .jpeg format. My question is where do I do this? When I try to change the settings in the HP solution center, the option isn’t there, and also, when I do change the setting, it won’t stay. Do you have any ideas?

I’m sorry, but if HP can’t take care of their own equipment, and have it worked as advertised I’d seriously consider taking my business elsewhere.
