Can I install Roxio and Nero DVD writing software on the same computer without having conflicts?

Q: I recently got a DVD writer for my older Presario laptop running Windows XP. The laptop already has Roxio on it and the new device came with Nero. I am wondering if can have both installed at the same time without conflict?

That shouldn’t be a problem. Just don’t try to use them both at the same time.

Thanks for your answer. I just got around to installing Nero 7 Essentials (EZ-DUB) onto my laptop, C drive. According to the LiteOn DVD Writer instructions, I did not connect hardware 1st. After software installation I lost use of several things like my wireless mouse, ability to read flash drives & ? I uninstalled Nero & my full fuctionality returned. Did I do something wrong? Does Nero have to be installed differently? If so, how?
Computer is Presario. I have a 250 GB external drive as well as 80 GB on board. I recently added 2 GB memory.
Your continued assisance in this matter will be appreciated.

That’s really bizarre for a software program like that to cause your mouse to stop working. Give installing it a second try.

You can also try http://cdburnerxp.se/ as a different cd/dvd burning tool if needed.
