Is it possible for me to replace the screen on my laptop?

by on April 27, 2009

Q: I dropped My Toshiba satellite l300 with a 15.4″ screen on the ground. After I dropped it, the screen looked like it was cracked, not on the outside, but on the inside. What happened here? Do I need to replace the screen. I’m assuming I need to. So how do I go about replacing the screen myself. Where do I find a new screen? I know how to actually change the screen, but where do I find a cheap screen? Does the screen need to be a Toshiba? Does it even need to be 15.4″. Does it need to be the same model number?(l300) or will any 15.4″ laptop screen do? Like a dell laptop screen?

Will the length of my phone cord really effect my dialup internet connection?

by on April 27, 2009

Q: I currently have a dialup internet connection and a Compaq Presario 2200 laptop computer.

When I setup my computer and internet, the instructions said that the phone line should not be longer than six feet for the best internet service. This was also the instruction for high speed when I had that service.

I want to move my computer to a location in my home that would require a phone line longer than six feet. Before I move it I wanted to know if moving it with a longer phone line will effect the quality of the internet connection and if it does is there something that can be done to mitigate this.

How do you make it so when someone tries to download a photo they get a blank image?

by on April 27, 2009

Q: I was just on flickr photo sharing and I realized that after you save a photo, and you open it, it is blank as if they have covered the picture with a blank photo and that is what you have saved. I was wondering how you do this as I do not want my pictures stolen.

My problem is that every time I try to play a game online it tells me that my ISP can’t be reached. When I test the connection it times out. Is there something that I’m not doing?
