A few google searches of ‘ashampoo spyware’, ‘ashmapoo scam’, etc. don’t turn up anything, however it does look like they want to charge a lot of money for software to ‘optimize’ your computer. There are a lot of very nice tools available for free that can do a very good job of cleaning things up for you.

I personally recommend http://www.ccleaner.com/ and http://www.defraggler.com/ (both free).

If unfamiliar programs such as Ashampoo WinOptimizer 6 are already on your computer, uninstall them and then use a reputable antivirus scanner to check your computer. I recommend a free antivirus scanner called Avast, which is located at the http://www.avast.com/eng/programs.html website.

    Does this help?

I have used both ccleaner and defraggler. They are good programs. However, I do like the vista tweaks that WinOptimizer offers and a lot of things that the program does that none of the free programs offer. I myself, have done a lot of research on the program, and could find nothing negitive about it. This is why I ask you guys.If there is anything bad about the program, I know you would be on top of it.
