Q: I have Windows Vista and I’ve been having trouble downloading flash player 10. I’ve tried everything they told me and nothing has helped. What can I do to download this software to my computer?

Are you trying to use Firefox or Internet Explorer?

First, make sure that you have uninstalled all previous versions of Adobe Flash Player from your computer by going Start Menu (blue ball at lower left) => Control Panel => Uninstall a program.

Second, run the free maintenance programs that are located at the http://www.ccleaner.com/ and http://www.defraggler.com/ webpages. CCleaner — especially the Registry tool — will help you to clean junk out of your computer that might be preventing Flash Player from installing. Defraggler will reorganize the files on your computer’s hard drive to make your computer run faster — including faster software installations.

Next, be sure to download the latest Flash Player from the official http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ website only. For users of Microsoft Windows and/or Mac OS X, the official website is the only safe way to install Flash Player.

Finally, make sure that you are trying to install Flash Player for your browser. For example, don’t use Firefox to install the Internet Explorer version of Flash Player.

    Does this help?
