    You are going to have to make sure you have multiple licenses for QuickBooks Pro 2009 if you are both going to access the file at the same time.

    You then have to find a spot to store the file. This “spot” is going to have to, as in the answer, be a shared location where the other user will be able to connect to get to the file. You can do this on one of the two computers or you can do it on by using a web host. The easiest thing is probably to get an external hard drive that supports networking and just use an Ethernet cable to connect it to your network and then in the router open up the ports to allow network sharing. This should be covered in your external hard drive manual or in your routers manual.

    Then from there you just need to give the other person your IP address and they can connect. Now, again, depending on the speed of your network and how big the company file is it is very possible this could be very painful and very slow.
