What does it mean if someone tells me my business has to be able to use SOAP Web Services?

Q: I have been informed that in order to do business with a particular company I must be able to hook up with SOAP Web Service, WS-I Basic Profile 1.1. What does this mean? Do I have to have any special software or hardware or is this system accessable to the average computer user?

    The simple answer is you probably need to hire a programmer/software engineer to write custom code to do what you require.

    You can read about SOAP but the simple definition is that SOAP is a technology/framework used by programmers to send information from one computer/website to another computer/website.
