How do I do Internet sharing with 2 other computers?
by Annita on August 16, 2009Q: I have a new EL1300G-01W E-Machine. There is no network sharing wizard. Can I do Internet sharing with 2 other home computers using an Ethernet cable? Do I need to purchase something?

You’d need a router (such as this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833124284 ) to share a broadband internet connection. All your computers would hook into the router with an Ethernet cable, and then the router plugs into your cable or DSL modem via an Ethernet cable.

I was told by Verizon that the air card will not work with a Linksys router, I must use a Cradle Point or Kycocera. And, I was told I need a WiFi adapter for both desktop computers and the laptop already has a built-in WiFi adapter. Why does the new Emachine (Vista) not have a network internet sharing icon or is it necessary?

You didn’t say anything about using an aircard in the question but now that we know that I would suggest you read Creating A Wireless Network With Verizon’s Wireless USB720 Broadband Modem
