Can a DVD burned in the USA be played on a DVD player bought in Europe?

by on October 29, 2009

Q: I want to send some DVD’s I recorded on my DVD recorder to a friend in Czech Republic. I live in the United States and recorded the DVD’s on a DVD recorder I bought here in the USA. Will she be able to play them on a DVD player she bought in Europe? Will she be able to play them in a computer that she bought in Europe?

  1.

Pressed video DVD’s is where you would have a problem not with DVD’s you burn yourself. the video DVD’s have what is called a region code and it makes it so DVD’s can only be played in players with the same region code.

You wont have this problem with a DVD you burned yourself.
