How come my computer says there are two installs of Windows XP?

Q: Why is it when I start my computer it says there are two Windows XP installed?

One is regular and the second one is trying to install. How do I remove it so it starts normally?

  1.

    1. Click Start > Run
    2. In the Open: line type msconfig and click OK to open System Configuration Utility
    3. Select the tab labeled BOOT.INI
    4. Click the button labeled Check All Boot Paths
    5. A dialog box will open detailing the location of any invalid operating system locations.
    6. Confirm you want to remove the entry and reboot the system.

When I click on Check all boot paths, it says, “It appears that all BOOT.INI lines for Microsoft operating systems are OK.”

  2.

You can use that boot tab to delete the other boot option that you don’t want anymore.
