How come my HP Scanjet says it does not have enough free space to save file?

Q: My HP Scanjet 5400 reports “not enough disc free space to save file.” I have 60Gbytes of ‘free space”. What’s up?

    Sounds like this is a bug in HP’s software.

    See this thread for some ideas on a work around, it looks like HP made a patch for the 7400 software, but not for the 5400.

    If that thread doesn’t help try downloading the latest drivers/software from HP’s website and see if that helps.
