Q: When I tried to install Mac OS 10.5 on my Mac OS 10.4 using a dual layered DVD it could not read the disk. Can you start up from hard drive?

I can say I have never installed from the hard drive. Are you trying to upgrade or are you trying to install over 10.4?

You might be able to start it from the hard drive if you have a disk image but I have never done it so I would not even know where to start.
