Is there anyway to salvage the programs off a hard drive that was in a computer that crashed?

Q: My computer died but the hard drive was okay. I connected the hard drive to my laptop but I can’t get the programs to run. What can I do since I no longer have the disk used to load the program initially?

    You’re going to need the installer for those programs in order to use them again. Copying the programs over won’t work since they have to write a lot of data to Windows in addition to the stuff in the Program Files folder.
