How are the CMOS, BIOS, master boot record, and partition tables related?

Q: I think these are all connect but trying to figure out relationships between CMOS, BIOS, Master Boot Record, MBR Partition, Partition table, Active partition, Boot files. Can anyone explain the relationship between all those items?
