How come my computer does not recognize the disc that the trial version Microsoft Office came on?
by chrissy25 on January 29, 2010Q: I just purchased a 180 day trial of Microsoft Office. The problem is that my computer is not recognizing the disk. How can I get around this? I have the valid product key. Is there a way to download the trial online? The Microsoft homepage gave me a headache. Can anyone help or should I just try to return this?

I was not aware that Microsoft sold a trial version of Office. Normally trial versions of software are free. I would try going to TryMicrosoftOffice.com and seeing if that works.
I think the bigger problem is that you might have been duped so I would certainly try to get your money back but I would not hold your breath.

Hi, i actually purchased the trial from school. It lasts as long as the semester. It turned out to be an issue with the computer. I was able to finally solve the problem with a little technical help. Program is running fine. Good looking out though! Thanks anyways

Okay I guess it is an alternative to buying the student edition of the software, which is usually a faction of the cost of the regular version. If you plan on using it for more than a semester or two then I would suggest looking into the student edition.
