How do I get the picture on my TV to look correct when hooking up my laptop?

by on February 4, 2010

Q: I have a newly built PC, running windows 7, everything works great, except that it won’t reisze to my screen properly. I have it hooked up to a 42″ plasma TV, which worked great on my old dell PC. I have a huge graphics card and it suggests running at max 1920 resolution, however, all my icons and start button, etc are off the screen if I leave on anything but the minimum crap setting of 800 res. What can I do? Windows 7 doesn’t seem to offer many options in the control panel to do this manually.

  1.

Once you connect your laptop to your TV you should have the option of changing the resolution. I know you said you cannot seem to find it but it is in there.
