Can I get fonts on my TV to be acceptable enough to use a TV as my primary monitor?

by on February 15, 2010

Q: I have my laptop connected to my TV so I can watch movies and TV shows I have downloaded. I’m going to be getting a new desktop soon and I was wondering if I could use my TV as the primary monitor. I know I can I just don’t know how to make the image 100%.

As of right now when the laptop is connected it’s slightly difficult to read what’s on the screen. It’s like maybe the resolution isn’t high enough maybe? How do I make it where fonts show clearly? The movies are perfect.

  1.

The problem with using a TV as a monitor is that the resolution, even on an HDTV, is not as good as the resolution on a good monitor. So it is not the fonts fault that it doesn’t look right it is actually the TVs fault and the bigger the TV the worse the fonts are going to look.

In short I would not suggest using a TV as a primary monitor it just wont give you the resolution you need to see your text clearly.
