Is there a way to disable the trackpad on my laptop so I can see if it is the reason my cursor moves around when I am typing?

Q: I have a novo laptop 444s and whenever I am typing the cursor jumps up or down to another line. I don’t think I am hitting the touch pad causing this to happen but maybe I am. Is there a way I can turn the touchpad off?

Look for a trackpad icon in the bottom right of your screen (aka the system tray). Try right or left clicking on that and there should be an option for disabling the trackpad there.

If not try going into the control panel, and there might be an option listed in the mouse section.

Well I tried the left click on the icon but it took meto the same file that is in Control panel and I cant find anything there to turn it off either. Thanks Mark

If there is nothing in there, you can also try going into Control Panel>System>Device Manager

You should find the touchpad listed in there, probably under input devices or mouse devices or something like that. Right click on it and select disable. Windows might as you to reboot. You can re-enable the device the same way.

Well, I am beginning to hate this Lenovo more and more. I tried all of that in Control panel and it wont allow a disable, only an uninstall, then it wont allow that because it is part of the original system. Bloody heck, my HP just has an on off switch at the touchpad, who decided that you had to have a degree in rocket science to simply write an email without an ‘event’
