    Hibernate actually takes everything from RAM (memory) and puts it on the hard drive in a special location. This allows the machine to actually shut off vs sleep which actually keeps everything in RAM (memory) still by using battery power to preserve it.

    It is pretty random as to why the hibernate option goes away and in my experience it usually requires a reinstall of Windows to fix it. I personally don’t suggest using hibernate myself because I have heard nothing but problems from people related to it but if you would like to get it back I suggest you backup all your important files and do a reinstall of your Windows operating system.

      i do not have a cd [xps]i tried to download a virtual cd but another problem,,i deleted winzip but when i downloaded it it was the default extraction and i couldn`t open it as it was deleted but not the opening part and i need to clean it out,how?then i`ll redownload to my origional extraction wizard.any ideas?what a great forum to get answers.
