How do I use my hard drive in another computer?

Q: I have an older computer with a really good hard drive but the mother board is fried. I want to use this hard drive in another computer. How do I go about this?

    1. How do you know the “motherboard is fried”? Most system problems can be fixed by reinstalling the operating system.

    2. In what way do you want to use the hard drive? Are you planning on using the Windows install on this drive, just using it for extra storage, adding it to an existing computer?

    3. In what way is this hard drive really good?

    1. The computer would not turn on. I took it to geek squad and they said the capacitor was fried and that there is nothing that can be done except get a new mother board.
    2. I want to take the hard drive from the broken computer and move it into another tower as it is much bigger and has all my important docs, photos, music etc.
I heard that I may need to use both at the same time using one as a slave drive?
    Thanks for your help.

Can you tell me if the hard drives are SATA or IDE?
