You cannot have too much RAM

by on March 31, 2010

Q: This Christmas I received two Kingston 1 GB memory modules for my Presario SR 1503 WM. This seems like too much memory for the little Celeron processor. Is there such a thing has having too much RAM?

A: This is certainly an interesting question because technically there is such a thing as too much RAM. Too much RAM, in my book, would be putting more RAM in your computer than your computer can recognize. This tends to be less of a problem now with newer systems that can support more RAM than anyone would think about buying but on really old systems there were limits like 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB, etc. It should be noted that putting more RAM in your computer than it can recognize will usually not cause a problem you will just have RAM that the computer cannot use. Keeping your computer secure

by on March 30, 2010

Q: What is my best option for keeping my computer secure?

A: The best security is actually the person using the computer. Don’t download files unless you know exactly what they are and where they came from. Make sure not to visit malicious websites or give out your passwords and change your passwords often. We currently think the best software to help you is Microsoft Security Essentials. How do I fix Operating System Not Found error?

by on March 30, 2010

Q: I have a micron millennia XKU and I can’t get passed the startup screen, the one where it asks for F2 for setup. I went though through the setup and nothing happens so I thought I was doing something wrong so I changed the settings to default. Now when it restarts it goes back to that screen. It finally acts like its going to start only for it to tell me OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND.

I don’t know what operating system it needs or how to even get a disk for one. How do I fix this?

However, my laptop has been working fine from a wireless hotspot at a local bookstore. I am using a Gateway laptop Model # MX8741, with a Motorola SM56 Speakerphone Modem.
