Is it a good idea to compress my HP recovery files and if so how do I do it?

Q: My computers health check said to compress my HP recovery files. I don’t know how to do that. Can you please tell how how to do it?

    If it were me I would not compress it. I would, however, take this opportunity to create a DVD from the recovery files. This way if your hard drive ever fails then you have the ability to rebuild your computer with a new hard drive. If you do not create a restore disc from these files now then you will have to fight with HP to get them to send you one and, like many people that visit our site, you will probably end up being in a position where you will end up buying a new computer rather than dealing with the hassle.
