Do you have a copy of all this data? What backup software are you running and what operating system are you using?

no copy, no back up system, but my daughter knows a way to catch the system as it is booting up and reload from a specific date. She did it before now she doesn’t remember how she did it.

do you know how to do that? it’s ctrl or alt and one of the f keys then i don’t know

My daughter remembered, I got it up in safe mode and tried to restore to the date I wanted, but I bought a demo floor model from COSCO and it had a system admin pass word that I never knew, so I can’t get the right restore date. So now how do I change the sysadmin password if I don’t know what the old one is? I have Vista op sys.

You really can’t, since that’s all part of the security. It wouldn’t be much of a point if the password was easily breakable. Since this was a floor model sitting around Cosco I’d strongly suggest you just do a fresh Vista installation. You have no idea what settings or software could have been installed on the PC while it was sitting around running in Cosco.

Thanks for the help, I do have a disk for it. I’ll try booting from the disk.
