How come I can only burn on HP DVDs?

Q: I have a new HP pavilion PC and monitor but it will only let me burn DVDs on HP DVDs. How can I make it work on Memorix DVDs?

What is happening when you try to burn a disk? Does it say “Only HP brand DVDs can be used” or does it allow you to burn a disk but then it doesn’t work?

I suggest trying some different software (like http://cdburnerxp.se ) along with some other brands of DVDs (Verbatim, etc.) and see how things turn out.

Some DVD burners don’t like specific brands of blank DVD media, you might just need to play around and see what works best.

I.harris, to add to Mark’s suggestions that a burner might not “like” the “type” or “brand” of disk you are using, the same can be said of your player. Plus, are you burning in “DVD+” or “DVD-“?
