Can I transfer my music from my desktop onto my netbook?

by on March 21, 2010

Q: I have a desktop with 1.06 GB of music on it with iTunes. I also have an Acer D250-1371 1GB netbook. Can I transfer the music on to my netbook and if I did what problems would it create?

If this is music you purchased via iTunes you’ll need to install iTunes on your netbook and login to your iTunes account on the netbook so it will be authorized to play the music.

If this music is normal mp3 files you downloaded elsewhere you can just copy the files over.

I intend to use Itunes home sharing but again I don’t want my netbook to be slow.

Unfortunately these are the only options Apple provides for DRM protected music you’ve purchased from iTunes. You either need to use an ipod/iphone or iTunes to play the music.

Try iTunes, if it makes your netbook too slow then uninstall it and listen to something else.
