How do I restore my original back up from Norton 360?

by on March 21, 2010

Q: I rest my computer back to factory settings and then tried to retrieve my files baked up on Norton 360. I reinstalled Norton 360 and tried to run Restore, but my external hard drive did not appear. The URL and CD options were there – but not my external HD. I ran a back up on Norton 360 to my HD to see if that would give access to my HD. It did – but only to the bach up I had just done. How do I restore my original back up from Norton 360? The back up files are all in binary. I can’t drag and drop any files – even my contacts and favorites.

I suggest you contact Symantec for assistance. Part of your paid Norton subscription includes chat/phone/email support from Symantec:

Took your advice Uber. Norton tried but gave up – but they left an upgrade to the latest version of Norton 360 on my desktop – so I installed it after bringing my Windows XP back up to current patches, loaded the current 360 and it worked! I had to do a little navigating through 360 but I was able to find my earlier back up file on my Ext HD and load it. Thanks.
