Is it possible to replace the DVD in my all-in-one PC?

by on April 17, 2010

Q: The DVD drive in my 5-month-old Asus ET2002 (Vista) all-in-one PC has stopped working for most movies. The drive is a TS-L633C ATA device. Is it possible to replace it and, if so, with what? Also, would it be possible to connect up an external DVD drive/DVD player via a USB port? I don’t want to go out and buy something if it’s not going to work.

    Picked as best answer

    1. Try a DVD drive cleaner disk to see if that takes care of your problem.

    2. Next make sure your movies are free of scratches and smudges

    3. If you think the drive is broke, contact Asus, your computer has a 1 year warranty.

4.If none of that works buying an external dvd drive should work fine with your computer.
