Is Webroot Spysweeper and Norton Utilities enough coverage against viruses and spyware?

by on May 9, 2010

Q: I have Webroot Spysweeper and Norton Utilities (because my Norton Systemworks expired and they said it’s not being re-relased). Do I have good enough coverage against viruses and spyware, etc?

  1.

In the end, the best protection is common sense. Don’t download stuff you don’t trust. : )

Norton Utility doesn’t provide any kind of virus or spyware protection. Webroot Spysweeper only covers spyware unless you also purchased Webroot Anti-Virus.

I run Microsoft Security Essentials (free download from Microsoft) on my PCs which has provided me with satisfactory spyware & anti-virus protection and has negligible impact on my system’s performance.
