What is the best easily portable laptop for under 2,000?

by on May 12, 2010

Q: Is a Lenovo t410s worth the price? In Canada we cannot get the switchable graphics option, therefore stuck with the integrated crap with the SSD, 3 yr warranty and thinkpad protection the cost approaches 2k. Which (easily portable) laptop would you purchase with 2k?

  1.

“best” is very subjective, and can be very dependent on what you want to do with the laptop. There is such a wide variety of laptop models out there your best bet is to focus on consumer reviews of the models you’re interested in. There is no one ‘best’ laptop. If your focused on Windows laptops, most are running very similar hardware and all running the same operating system.

If I was in the market for a new laptop (gaming, power user, etc.) I’d keep a close eye on the Canadian deal websites (in the states I use slickdeals.net and fatwallet a lot). And look for some good buys and opinions there. I’m partial to Acer and Asus at the moment, and they have some nice offerings with higher end video cards.
