Is there a way to make the cursor move to the next cell in Excel when using a barcode scanner?

by on May 29, 2010

Q: In Microsoft Excel, is there a way to get the cursor to automatically advance to the next active cell once a filed populates following a barcode scan? OR… Can a carriage return be added to the end of a barcode? For example, the barcode desired is 123, but a carriage return is needed to allow the cursor in Microsoft Excel to automatically advance to the next active cell.

  1.

Check your barcoder’s software and the manual, most have an option to automatically sent a keyboard command (like tab or enter) after a barcode is scanned.
