Will dialup Internet be faster on a new computer versus an eight year old computer?

Q: Have dial up internet on an eight year old computer. If I purchase a new computer, will the dial up internet be any faster?

    Non- web browsing tasks will certainly be faster, but your still going to be seriously limited by using a dial-up internet connection. Moving to some kind of higher speed internet connection if at all possible (and a new computer purchase) are both recommended.
