How do I get Microsoft Word to stop showing the paragraph and other symbols?

Q: I was browsing around the net and copying and pasting various “readings” to my MS word. If I found something interesting I would cut part of it, then paste it into word.

I found one website and I did this same thing that I am speaking of. It must have some bug or something because now ALL my word documents have that Paragraph symbol, return arrow thing, and every single word has a little dot in between it. if there is some space between words then it has say 3 or 5 dots. How do I get my word stuff back to normal?

    yes, this did help. I went to “format” then “reveal marks” then unclicked a box.
