    Try the following steps and let me know if this works for you.

    Step 1
    Write your signature out on a piece of paper and scan that piece of paper to yourself.

    Step 2
    The scan will come across as a pdf most likely. If that is the case, save the scan to your desktop as a jpeg.

    Step 3
    Open the jpeg up and crop your signature as closely as you can. It will now look very large, but go ahead and save it. You can resize it appropriate to your document later.

    Step 4
    Open the Word document that you want the electronic signature in.

    Step 5
    Go to the tool bar and select Insert, scroll down to Picture and select From Files.

    Step 6
    Access from your desktop the jpeg, double click on it. You should be back in your word document.

    Step 7
    Resize the jpeg with the size arrows and drag and drop it into place above your written out signature.

    Step 8
    Save.
