How come I cannot get the Ethernet cards to work on my HP Proliant server?

by on August 20, 2010

Q: I bought an HP Proliant dl140 server from a friend of mine. I just installed windows server 2003 and I can’t get the internet cards to work. I searched HP for the drivers and i can’t find the right one.

    Here you go:

i downloaded all these drivers and the setup says that i don’t have the drivers installed or the right firmware

i think it is the OS i tried installing a usb internet card and it’s not working. i am running windows server 2003 Enterprise rc2 do you think that is the problem?

These drivers would be for the Ethernet cards included with the server itself.

If you have your own cards you’re trying to use with the server you’ll need to install the appropriate drivers from the card manufacturer’s website.

i finally did get the internet card to work i temporarily added a cd drive. Then i went to windows update in the web browser and checked for hardware updates and there were none.

A friend told me that he got his network drivers from Broadcom

Look for the internet card type on google and download it in my case the driver installer was from dell
