How come I can only access photos on my SD card?

Q: I want to access data I have stored on a SD card and I only have my digicam in order to connect it to my PC. Once connected Windows only lets me access the photos. How do I read the data directly (its a folder containing mp3 files). I’ve got 2 pc’s available- one running xp the other vista.

    Under Computer, or “my Computer’ in XP you should see all your drives listed. Ideally the camera will show up as a drive and you can access it that way.

    If the camera doesn’t allow this, your best option is to just buy an SD card reader for about $10.
