Most modern word processor programs will do an ‘auto correct’ and take care of this for you automatically along with other handy fixes.
This should include recent versions of Microsoft Word (at least 2003 or newer), as well as Open Office (free).
If this is a feature you’d need in a specific other program or for a specific need, there might be an option in that program or a plugin available to take care of it.
Just let me know!

Hi,
Thanks for your answer, it was helpful.
I managed to use microsoft auto-correct from “Word” and “Entourage” to automatically swap “i” with “I”, which is good.
The swap also seems to apply to Powerpoint but not TextEdit for some reason.
