How come I cannot get on the Internet after reinstalling Windows XP?
by jboy on September 24, 2010Q: I recently erased my Dell hard drive that was running Windows XP. When I reinstalled it I couldn’t get any Internet! It has the Ethernet adapter built in and the wireless adapter which I put in before I erased my computer. Now there are no connections for the Ethernet or the wireless adapter! How do I make them work again.
You need to download and install the drivers for your Ethernet and wireless adapter.
Since the Ethernet adapter came with your Dell computer, you can download the correct driver from Dell’s website: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs
The wireless adapter will need to be downloaded from the manufacturer’s website.

Yes, you’ll need to download the drivers with a different computer, and then copy them over using a flash drive or burning them to a CD or something.
