Can I clone my hard drive to another drive?

by on October 10, 2010

Q: I have an HP Pavilion 9700. My hard drive is failing. After I install a new hard drive in my second available bay, will I be able to clone all information from drive one to drive two? Is this the correct way to replace my failing drive or should I consider something else.

  1.

You’ll need to use a special software program to do the clone.

Here is a guide with lots of information for you:

Also, if you’ve had this computer for a while and are having any kinds of windows problems, you might be better off just doing a fresh windows install on the new computer, reinstalling your software and then copying your important files over (might want to make a backup of them to dvd-r or something first).
