Why do I get messages that say boot manager compressed when booting Windows 7?

Q: I have a laptop that was given to me. It has Windows 7 and when I boot the computer it says boot manager compressed. I don’t have windows disk. How can I fix this problem?

    You will require a Windows 7 install disk. The license is irrelevant for this repair, so you could easily use a friends Windows 7 install disk to do the fix without issue.

    *Insert the installation DVD in your system and start the pc
    *Click Repair your computer.
    *Then click on Load Driver.
    *Go to Computer.
    *Right click on the partition your installation previously compressed> Properties.
    *Then uncheck “Compress drive to increase space available”.
    *Then close all windows to restart the computer.
