Is there a program I can put on my computer to prevent timing out due to inactivity from a site?
by krt3306 on November 24, 2010Q: Is there a program that I can install on my computer that somehow prevents a “time out due to inactivity” on a website that I access?
I work from home and have several programs open simultaneously and whenever I jump back to one of them it times me out due to inactivity (maybe 10 minutes of inactivity). I cannot change this at the root level so hoping somebody creatively figured this out as a work-around…..

The activity timeout is tracked by the website that you are using. Other then doing something with that website like clicking a link every few minutes there isn’t anything you can do, the setting are all controlled by the operator of the website.
The best you can do is use a solid password manager like lastpass, it will allow you to log back in a lot faster by auto populating your login info, and keep it secure as well.
