Does cleaning your registry really make your computer faster?

by on November 25, 2010

Q: It seems your computer can be faster if you clean registry, so I try the tuneup360. It is not free, but it will give a free license if I agree to do a customer survey. I do feel my computer runs faster after that. Do you guys have any recommendation?

Our official stance is we highly suggest against using registry cleaners. If you feel you must use a registry cleaner we warn users that they must back up their system first and then back up their registry separately as well before trying the cleaner.

Registry Cleaners don’t make your computer any faster. The only harddrive cleanup software we really like is ccleaner. http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
