What is the difference between DIMMs and DDR?

Q: What is the difference between DIMMs and DDR and can I use DDR RAM for a Compaq EVO D500 DT Intel 845 running Windows XP?

    The simple answer is they are sized differently, and work a little bit differently as well. You will be unable to use DDR RAM in this older computer.
